Egypt’s Prosecutor General, Hisham Barakat, has died from fatal injuries in his lungs and abdomen following a car bomb attack earlier today.

The prosecutor’s convoy was hit near the military academy in Heliopolis, Cairo. Earlier reports stated that Barakat had only suffered from a dislocated shoulder and a broken nose, however the Justice Minister Ahmed al-Zind and medical sources have since confirmed that he has passed away.

Reports of other casualties are unclear, with some local media outlets reporting that five security personnel and one civilian has been injured. It is yet unknown who was culpable for the act.

Barakat was appointed as prosecutor general by interim President Adly Mansour, and was seen as instrumental in the crackdown on the now outlawed Muslim Brotherhood.

Barakat’s assassination comes just one day short of the second anniversary of the nationwide protests that led to the fall of deposed President Mohamed Morsi.

Obama likes the Muslim Brotherhood, has had 80 visits from them at the White House, excuse me, His House. Bet you won’t see him condemn these attacks. He is busy with the gay population celebrating their recent victory in the Supreme Court.

  2. Minymina says:

Seriously, fuck the brotherhood and all the dogs who yell “human right abuse.” Kill every last one of these animals and show them no mercy in court.

    1. Key says:

Minymina, the MB have been a useful tool for western regimes in creating chaos and corruption both in religious and worldly affairs and served as a useful proxy to help achieve geo-political agendas. This is beyond the MB (Mogremeen Brotherhood). This is the work of external western foreign powers where the MB simply execute the greater plan of a greater western project at further dividing the ME.

    2. Valerie says:

Nope. Take a look at just how well the policies of the present US administration have worked on so many levels. The present administration is populated by ideologues and fantasists. I admit that they are easily as dangerous as people who would want to use the MB as tools.
