Disabled 24-Year-Old Egyptian Model Challenges Stereotypes

Rania Roushdy, 24, is a youthful Egyptian model who is confined to a wheelchair, yet hopes to challenge stereotypes and inspire others to pursue their dreams.

A video by Reuters of Roushdy’s story has started to trend on social media in Egypt with more than 240,000 views.

“I want to prove that a wheelchair will not stop me from what I want to do,” says Roushdy, who started her career as a make-up and hijab model before realizing that there weren’t any disabled people modeling clothes in Egypt, reveals the video by Reuters.
