Machete ‘Terrorist’ Attack in London Underground Station

The United Kingdom’s security forces are treating an incident in which a number of people were stabbed at Leytonstone Underground station as a “terror incident”. Earlier, a man armed with a machete stabbed several people at the station before being arrested. “We are treating this as a terrorist incident. I would urge the public to remain calm, but alert and vigilant,” said Commander Richard Walton, who leads the Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command, in a statement. “The threat from terrorism remains at severe, which means that a terrorist attack is highly likely.” According to police, a number of people were stabbed at the station by a male suspect at approximately 7:00PM. One of those injured as sustained serious knife injuries while the other two suffered from minor injuries. Video has showed the suspect being tasered by police officers.
