At least 43 people have been injured in a massive fire that engulfed a hotel in El-Rowaey in El-Ataba, announced health officials as the fire continues to rage.
According to an official in Egypt’s Ministry of Health, the state of alert was raised at nearby hospitals in expectation of more injuries.
It remains unclear what started the fire at the six-storey hotel, which has impacted some nearby buildings. According to Al-Ahram, the fire has spread to a commercial building.
Firefighters are still attempting to put out the fire, with helicopters circling overhead. More than 25 firetrucks were sent to the scene to control the fire.

The fire comes seven days after another massive fire in the same district of El-Ataba. However, there were no injuries from last week’s fire.
