Around 15 young Egyptian people will be selected to present a resolution read out during the Model United Nations (MUN) session held as part of the World Youth Forum earlier this month before the United Nations Security Council, said Amr Seda, one of the Presidential Leadership Programme (PLP) students and one of the participants in the MUN. Seda said that the 15 young people will introduce some amendments to the MUN resolution, make it stronger in cooperation with the Egyptian Foreign Ministry and finally present it at the UN Security Council. “Some of the resolution’s ideas might be taken into consideration or they might be showcased at the UN Museum in recognition of the key role played by the world’s young people,” Seda, 30, told Egyptian Streets. Seda also said that the MUN participants managed to come up with a solid and strong resolution that addressed the phenomenon of terrorism by focusing on fighting its root causes. “The resolution included five axes, namely intelligence sharing and international cooperation, criminalization of terrorism financing, legislation concerns, trans-border concerns and control measures as well as socio-economic aspects as precursors to terrorism,” he added….
