According to Reuters and various social media reports, an explosion occurred in Dokki, below the 6th of October bridge in central Cairo.

The official spokesperson of the ministry of health, Dr. Khaled Megahed, stated that there were no casualities or serious injuries as a result of a private car explosion whose flames spread to a minibus.

Four civilians were injured and moved to Kasr el Eini Hospital, three to an Agouza hospital and two to a private hospital according to Al Ahram.

The cause of the blast is still unclear, but a faulty battery is suspected to be at fault.
