Egypt’s U16 women national basketball team have reached the African Championship final after beating Angola 71-50, succeeding in securing their spot in the upcoming World Cup.
They will now face Group B leaders Mali in the tournament’s final on Saturday, August 3.
The victors finished second in Group B after beating Uganda in their opening game with a 80-46 score, though losing to Mali 88-57 in their second match.
They won with with an easy 88-41 scoreline against Tanzania in the quarter-finals scoreline, and then finally beat Angola 71-50 in the semi-final.
Earlier in July, the male national basketball team finished first in the African Championship after beating Mali 66-57, as well as achieving first place in the 2015 FIBA Africa U16 Men.
In August, Egypt’s women basketball team will play in the 2019 AfroBasket Women, which will be held from 9th till the 18th of August in Dakar, Senegal.
