Elliot Bannister​ is a foodie and linguist who learnt his Arabic in Alexandria. He is interested in the interaction between food and language: how recipes are shared between families and cultures, and how dishes and ingredients take on multiple meanings. He is a graduate of SOAS, University of London where he specialised in Arabic dialectology.
