Egypt’s Prosecutor General Dies After Car Bomb Attack

Egypt’s Prosecutor General, Hisham Barakat, has died following fatal injuries to his lungs and abdomen sustained after a car bomb attack, according to local state media outlets Al Masry al-Youm and Youm7.

The prosecutor’s convoy was hit near the military academy in Heliopolis, Cairo. It is yet unknown who was culpable for the act.
