Egypt’s Argentinian coach Hector Cuper selected 17foreign-based Egyptian players to join a training camp that is slated for March in preparations for the Russia World Cup 2018.
The camp will be held between 20 and 28 March in Switzerland’s city of Zurich in preparation the 2018 World Cup to be held in Russia in June.
In October, Egypt secured its ticket to the World Cup for the first time since 1990.
Among the selected players are Mohamed Salah, Mohamed El-Nenni, Essam el-Hadary, Shikabala, Mahmoud Kahraba and Amr Warda. Ten of them play for European sporting clubs while six of them play for Arab clubs, and Omar Jaber plays for an American sporting club.
Tuesday marks the ‘100 Days to Go’ until the start of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The Egyptian Football Association President Hany-Abou Rida announced that the association is planning on negotiating a new contract with Cuper following the conclusion of the World Cup.
In December, Egypt was drawn with Saudi Arabia, Russia, and Uruguay in Group (A). Russia’s group, that Egypt is a part of, is considered to be the easiest, according to the New York Times.
