Egypt’s Minister of Education and Technical Education, Mohamed Abdel Latif, honored school principal Saleha Abdel Fadil on Wednesday, 9 September, for their dedication and sense of responsibility following an incident involving the governor of Qalyubia.
This comes after a confrontation between the Qalyubia governor and Abdel Fadil in Kafr El-Gazar revealed that the school principal spent EGP 18,000 of her own money to meet the school’s needs, raising questions about how the incident was ultimately resolved.
The minister recognized Nader Ali, principal of Barqatta Preparatory School in Kafr Shukr, Qalyubia, and Saleha Aboul Fadl, principal of Martyr Ahmed Samir School.
The two principals were honored for their outstanding efforts, dedication to their educational duties, and commitment to serving their students and their communities.
During the ceremony, Abdel Latif said the ministry was not simply honoring two outstanding school principals. He said the recognition was also meant to celebrate the values of patriotism, responsibility, hard work, and dedication.
“Teachers do not only provide knowledge,” the minister said. “They also help build students’ character, teach values and principles, and strengthen their sense of belonging to their country.”
The Qalyubia Directorate of Education has formed several inspection committees to visit schools across Kafr Shukr to check their preparations for the new school year and identify any problems that could affect the start of classes.
Workers have started trimming trees and cleaning up the area around the school. Renovation work is also underway, including painting classrooms, repairing student desks and seats, fixing the school stairs, and leveling and preparing the school courtyard.
