A market in the Nigerian city of Yola was rocked by a massive blast that has left more than 30 dead, according to local reports.
Initial reports implicate Boko Haram, a terrorist organisation, for the deadly attack.
Earlier this week, Yola was visited by Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari who vowed that Boko Haram was close to defeat.
Boko Haram, which means “Western education is forbidden”, was founded in 2002 as initially opposing Western education. However, the group took up arms in 2009 and has been responsible for the deaths of thousands.
Last year, Boko Haram made headlines across the globe after at least 200 schoolgirls were abducted. The group has pledged allegiance to ISIS and vowed to continue its operations.
