American actress and singer Laura Bell Bundy attended the 2016 Screen Actors Guild Awards on Saturday wearing an original designer from Temraza, marking the Egyptian haute couture brand’s debut at the prestigious awards ceremony.

Bell Bundy had purchased the silver Temraza dress from the brand’s showroom in Beverly Hills but Temraz did not know the actress would wear it to the SAG Awards, she told CairoScene.

Temraza, the namesake brainchild of 24-year-old Farida Temraz, has garnered widespread media attention both in Egypt and internationally and the young entrepreneur described seeing one of her designs on the red carpet as a hard-earned reward for her dedication.

“This shows that when you work really hard and concentrate on the designs instead of the fashion scene, it pays off,” Temraz said.

Most recently, the clothing brand was featured at a Los Angeles Fashion Week show in October of last year. Temraza designs also found their way to the catwalks of the annual Cairo Fashion Festival and the 2014 London Fashion Week, where Farida was the only Egyptian designer.

For more information on Temraza, visit the brand’s website or Facebook page.
