Egypt’s Ali Farag Wins the UCS Swedish Squash Open

Egyptian squash player Ali Farag has won the UCS Swedish Open that took place from 8 to 11 February in the Swedish city of Linköping.

Farag ranked the third internationally beat Germany’s Simon Rösner ranked the sixth in the final by 3-1 (11-7/6-11/11-3/11-5).

“When you play against such a clean and a fair player, it is always fun to be on court. Simon is one of my best peers on the tour,” said Farag commenting after the final.

Egyptian squash players Omar Mosaad and Tarek Momen competed in the championship.

Momen ranked the seventh exited the tournament in the semifinals after losing to Rösner by 3-1 (8-11/7-11/11-4/7-11).

Mosaad lost to New Zealand’s Paul Coll by 3-0 (11-4/14-12/11-5).
