Egyptian rowers Nadia Negm and Abdel Khalek Elbana both reached the quarter finals in their respective rowing competitions at the Rio Olympics on Saturday morning.
Nadia Negm, who recently turned 18-years-old and is among the youngest in the competition, reached the quarter finals of the women’s single sculls rowing after finishing third in heat 3. Negm, who completed 2,000 meters in 9:14:55, ranked 18th overall.
Meanwhile, Abdel Khalek Elbana similarly finished with an overall ranking of 18 after coming in third place in heat 6 with a time of 7:34:05.
The quarter finals are set to be held on the 8th of August.
