At a concert in a Las Vegas hotel Sunday evening, a gunman opened fire killing at least 50 people and injuring more than 200, according to police reports.

Stephen Paddock has been identified as the gunman in the shooting of the music festival in Las Vegas. The 64-year-old is from Mesquite, Nevada; he has been reported to have opened fire killing several people, according to NBC News.

Witnesses described seeing flashes of light high up in the tower of the Mandalay Bay Hotel. Police believe the shooter opened fire at crowds of concert-goers from the 32nd floor of the hotel.

According to The Independent, Las Vegas Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said police had “located numerous firearms” in Paddock’s hotel room.

Las Vegas police shared an image of gunman’s “companion” Marilou Danley, who is wanted for questioning.

Police shot and killed a suspected shooter, identifying him as a local resident.

Video clips posted on social media showed country singer Jason Aldean performing outside the hotel being interrupted by the gunshots.

As the music stops, concert attendees fled in panic and are heard screaming.

A video of the concert posted online shows when the shooting started.

Reports of other incidents at different locations in Las Vegas has emerged, but police officials say they believe the suspect acted alone.
