Egyptian motorcyclist Ali Abdo achieved a new world record for the longest distance crossed on a motocross bike in one day and broke Guinness World Record.
Abdo crossed 613.59 km (381.27 miles), the longest distance on a motocross bike, in 24 hours in Egypt’s coastal city of Gouna.
The motorcyclist achieved the new world record by lapping around “Motoclub Egypt track” 510 times on a Honda XL 250.
Abdo has his own initiative “Around Egypt on a Motorcycle”. The aim of the initiative is to encourage adventure traveling, explore the Egyptian beauty of distant locations, and increase the awareness of the motorcycle riding culture in Egypt.
The initiative started in 2013 and managed to draw attention in a short time. Additionally, it has a good impact on the tourism sector in Egypt.
Abdo travels across Egypt to document and photograph his adventures, as well as the hidden gems of Egypt.
In 2016, Abdo managed to achieve a world record when he crossed the longest distance on a motorcycle in 7 days.
The Egyptian motorcyclist, who also works in IBM according to Around Egypt on a Motorcycle, is currently working on an electronic encyclopedia to include his trips around Egypt. This encyclopedia will act as a complete guide to these destinations and services that people might need on their trips.
