Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi Announces Intention to Run for Second Term

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announced on Friday that he will run for the second term in Egypt’s presidential elections.

 

Three presidential hopefuls have announced intentions to run for the 2018 presidential elections. Human rights defender Khaled Ali announced in November plans to run for president. Ali is the first person to announce the intention to run for the presidency. Followed by MP Mortada Mansour in addition to former Army Chief-of-Staff Sami Anan.
