Egypt’s Nadine Shahin Crowned the 2018 Edinburgh Sports Club Squash Open Champion

Egyptian squash player Nadine Shahin won the Edinburgh Sports Club Squash Open’s final which was held in Scotland from 25 to 28 January.

In addition to Shahin, two Egyptians competed at the championship; these were Nada Abbas and Rowan El-Araby.

El-Araby exited in the semifinals after she lost to England’s Julianne Courtice by 3-2 (7-11/11-2/7-11/11-5/3-11). Abbas lost in the quarterfinals, also to Courtice by 3-1 (11-7/11-5/5-11/15-13).

Shahin, ranked 34 internationally, beat Courtice from England in the final by 3-2 (9-11/11-3/11-9/14-12/11-9), to be the Edinburgh Sports Club Open’s champion.
