The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) will introduce new admission ticket prices starting Sunday, November 1, 2026, following approval from its Board of Directors on Monday, 26 October.

The increase will add EGP 20 (approximately USD 0.36) to tickets for Egyptian visitors and USD 5 (approximately EGP 281) to tickets for foreign visitors, depending on the ticket category.

Under the new pricing system, Egyptian adults will pay EGP 220 (approximately USD 3.91), while students, children, and seniors over 60 will pay EGP 110 (approximately USD 1.91).

For Arab and foreign visitors, adult tickets will cost EGP 1,830 (approximately USD 32.50), while students and children will pay EGP 920 (approximately USD 16.34).

Meanwhile, Arab and foreign residents of Egypt will pay EGP 920 (approximately USD 16.34) for adult admission, with tickets for students and children priced at EGP 460  (approximately USD 8.17).

The new prices will take effect from November 1, 2026, and apply to the museum’s different visitor categories.

To manage large crowds and improve the visitor experience, timed entry was introduced on  November 16, 2025. All visitors must book tickets in advance for a specific entry time and arrive during their allocated slot.

As part of the new process, visitors will be required to book their tickets in advance and arrive at the designated time slot specified in their reservation. Time slots can be accessed and booked via GEM’s official website, which will be the main platform for handling bookings.

The museum will host a series of cultural experiences and events in November, offering visitors more reasons to visit.

Starting November 1, 2026, the museum will launch Eternal Sun, a 35-minute immersive experience that transforms the Grand Hall into a spectacle of light, music, and storytelling.

The Grand Egyptian Museum will also host Gala de Danza on Thursday, November 5, bringing together dance, music, and art in a special performance featuring international talent.

The museum will also host the UTH Festival on Friday, November 20, and Saturday, November 21. Under the theme Work in Progress, the two-day festival will bring together young people, creators, and professionals for talks, workshops, and interactive experiences.

The GEM is the world’s largest archaeological museum dedicated to a single civilization, conceived to showcase the depth of ancient Egyptian history and alleviate congestion at the century-old Egyptian Museum in Cairo. Located approximately two kilometers from the Giza Pyramids, its official opening and inauguration ceremony was on 1 November, 2025, with doors opening fully to the general public on Tuesday, 4 November, 2025.

The museum’s vast collection, which includes over 100,000 artifacts, features the entire, complete treasure trove of King Tutankhamun, more than 5,000 items, on display together for the first time
