Egypt: Falling Apart Brick by Brick

Women getting their hair forcibly cut off by niqab-wearing ‘Muslims’, a jihadist who lived in Afghanistan and helped destroy the Buddhas of Bamiyan is threatening to blow up the Pyramids, trains are crashing, Egyptian policemen and soldiers are being murdered by ‘jihadists’ in the Sinai, and garbage and electricity problems continue to plague Egypt.

Is this what Egypt has become following the Islamic uprising revolution?

The Egyptian people have entrusted President Morsy to take decisive action and to help build Egypt’s future.  He has started off brilliantly. So far he has:

1) Banned pornography

2) Ordered shops to close at 10pm – effectively eliminating the tag line “Egypt – the country that never sleeps.”

3) Ordered the Interior Ministry to allow the Muslim Brotherhood’s Guidance Bureau mufti to deliver religious lectures to police officers despite objections from the National Security Authority.

4) Has allowed policemen to grow their beards. The photos alone tell you why this has been banned.

5) Destroyed our relationship with the United States of America to the extent where they don’t even consider us as allies any more. NBC’s chief correspondent at the time asked “Was it worth supporting the Arab Spring, supporting the demonstrations here in Tahrir Square, when now in Tahrir Square there are clashes going on behind me right in front of the US embassy?

6) Released hundreds of prisoners. These prisoners have ranged from so-called jihadists that are today killing our soldiers in the Sinai, to thieves and thugs.

The point is the ‘elected’ President has done nothing but promote the Muslim Brotherhood’s agenda, while empowering the radicals, such as the Salafists and al-Gama’a al-Islamiyya. He has isolated our Coptic community, and killed off the voice of the youth – the youth which spent 18 days at Tahrir protesting for bread, freedom, and social justice.

Of course upon criticizing the President, supporters immediately state “He has not yet had enough time!”

In that short amount of time of five months, the ‘President’ has done nothing at all. He offered the Egyptians a list of promises to be completed – or at least developed upon – within 100 days. It has been five months, and none of these promises have even been approached.

It isn’t who leads us that is important, it is how we conduct ourselves, and how we choose to be led. All we are doing is allowing the Muslim Brotherhood’s puppet to dictate his party’s policies upon the Egyptian people, instead of pressuring him to listen to the voices of Egyptians  – the voices of true Egyptians that would never threaten to erase Egypt’s ancient history, murder their neighbours based on religion, or allow a piece of fabric to define one’s morality.
