Egypt’s First Lady, Intissar Amer Al-Sisi, has led a campaign to encourage Egyptians, particularly women, to donate to the “Tahya Masr” fund. Privately-owned Al-Hayah television channel aired footage of the First Lady as she visited an Egyptian bank to donate money to the national fund, in what has been described as a rare appearance. Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Waly and Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr also joined the First Lady in the donation campaign, along with the wives of other ministers. Sisi launched the “Tahya Masr” fund in 2014, pledging to contribute half of his own salary and encouraging Egyptians to contribute to the fund….
