Mohamed Salah Nominated for BBC African Footballer of the Year 2017

Mohamed Salah – Egypt and Liverpool

Mohamed Salah “may have scored over a century of goals but he will forever be remembered in Egypt for the late strike against Congo” qualifying the Pharaohs to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in 28 years.

The voting is now open for Mohamed Salah who is nominated for the BBC African Footballer of the Year 2017 along with other four renowned players: Victor Moses, Sadio Mane, Naby Keita and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Mohamed Salah previously played for Egypt’s U-20 and U-23 teams, and has represented Egypt in the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup in addition to the 2012 Summer Olympics. He was debuted on Egypt’s national team in 2011, and recently appeared on the Pharaoh squad in the 2017 African Cup of Nations.

Salah is Egypt’s fifth top scorer in history with 31 international goals, surpassing Amr Zaki.

This is the first time for Salah to be nominated for BBC African Footballer of the Year. In 2008, the legendary Mohamed Aboutrika won the title, according to BBC.
