As the world celebrates the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace on 6 April, Egypt stands tall as a testament to the transformative power of sports.  There are several Egyptian initiatives aimed at promoting sports within Egyptian communities for a better future and overall well-being.  In 2022, in collaboration with the National Human Rights Strategy, The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development allocated EGP 1.9 billion towards public investments to enhance sports programs and youth services. These programs focus on updating national strategies for sports and youth, fostering participation and collective volunteer work among young people.  As part of these efforts, Egypt hosted the Sports Expo Egypt 2023, inaugurated by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli on 22 February 2023.  The three-day event aimed to showcase the significance of sports for physical and psychological well-being by providing a platform for key players in the sports industry to form trade and investment agreements.   Building upon these initiatives, let’s dive into Egypt’s sporting legacy deeply rooted in the nation’s history and culture.
