Egypt’s Urgent Affairs Court nullified the Supreme Administrative Court’s ruling that rejected the government plan to transfer the Red Sea islands of Tiran and Sanafir to Saudi Arabia.
The decision came Sunday after the Administrative Court had stopped the controversial transfer on 16 January. Earlier in 2016, the transfer was annulled, forcing the Egyptian government to submit an appeal
Following the recent ruling, the parliament is to discuss the agreement which had previously sparked demonstrations in April 2016.
