May 22, 2017

Minister of Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Ahmed Hussein arrived to Egypt on Monday to advance educational exchange opportunities between Egypt and Canada.

Hussein visited the Canadian International College (CIC) in Cairo. President of the CIC Magdy Al-Kady welcomed him along with Canada’s Ambassador to Egypt Troy Lulashnyk.

Al-Kady said that there will be an announcement about launching a Canadian school in Egypt. The establishment of University of Canada in Egypt (UCE) will be done through partnership agreements with several higher education institutions in Canada, including the Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada.

The collaborations would guarantee offering multiple academic programs and postgraduate level programs at the University of Canada in Egypt (UCE).

Memorial University has expressed its enthusiasm for the project in Egypt.

UCE will be located in the new administrative capital city and will provide accredited degrees from Canadian universities.

The University of Canada will have five faculties in various academic disciplines and schools such as engineering, management, science, arts and social sciences, higher studies and center for research and innovation.
