Egypt Wins 10 Medals at the African Chess Championship

Egypt won a total of 10 medals at the African Chess Championship for youth and juniors securing three gold, three silver and four bronze medals in the competitions which took place from 2 December until 10 December in Egypt.

Around 145 players from 13 African countries competed including Egypt, Kenya, Algeria, Tunisia, Zambia, Madagascar, South Africa, Uganda, Libya, Nigeria, Namibia, Botswana, and Morocco.

Egyptian players Martin Mina, Ahmed Kandil, Adham Fawzy won the competition under eight years old, 10 years old and 18 years old, respectively.

The event was organized by the Egyptian Chess Federation and headed by Hesham Elgendy.
