Egypt got qualified to the females’ competition at the Unified Football World Cup. This achievement came after Egypt won the Special Olympics Female Unified MENA’s Regional Cup.

This is the first time for the MENA’s region to celebrate this prestigious event. Special Olympics Female Unified MENA’s Regional Cup took place in Egypt and three countries competed: Egypt, Tunisia, and UAE.

Egypt beat the UAE 4-2, so it qualified to the women’s competition at the Unified Football World Cup.

Earlier, the UAE qualified to the men’s competition at the Unified Football World Cup.

So the MENA’s region will be participating at the Unified Football World Cup with two teams, the Egyptian women’s team, and the Emirati men’s team.

Special Olympics Unified Sports Program unifies athletes with intellectual disabilities along with athletes without intellectual disabilities to play and train together in efforts to promote social inclusion.
