Egyptian YouTuber Ahmed Samir, known for his 1+ million-subscriber YouTube channel Egychology, has partnered with regional podcast company Kerning Cultures Network to launch a new podcast titled ‘A Superbly Scientific Podcast’ (بودكاست علمي جدا). Samir decided to expand into podcasting to accommodate the growing need for popular science content in the MENA region. “I wanted to take the first step to hopefully encourage listeners to engage in podcast content and maybe encourage some other popular science content creators to get into podcasting as well,” he explains. “When the chance presented itself with Kerning Cultures Network, their experience and resources made the choice very easy.” Bella Ibrahim, the Marketing Director at Kerning Cultures, explains that the network sought to fill a gap in the podcast market through a popular science podcast presented in Arabic. “Ahmed Samir’s work on Egychology is a perfect fit – not only is the content accessible and entertaining, but his audience (1 million strong!) is also so engaged and eager for more content,” she says.
