The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has warned its citizens against traveling to the United Kingdom (UK), following recent attacks taking place in London.
Citing the Ministry’s assistant under-secretary for consular affairs Ahmed Al-Dhaheri, the UAE’s news agency WAM reported, “This warning has been issued due to the UAE’s concerns about the safety of its citizens. Also, based on its assessments of threats and risks.”
Al-Dhaheri called on the UAE’s citizens who are currently in the UK to be cautious and avoid public areas during this period.
The warnings come after a third attack linked to Islamist militants in three months.
At least seven people were killed on Friday after terror attacks had struck London Bridge and Borough market. This attacks came two weeks after another attack had hit Manchester, killing at least 19.
The UAE said that it will inform its citizens about any development related to their security while abroad.
