Amid heavy promotion for his new film “The Mummy” set to hit theaters on 9 June, Tom Cruise decided to do some of the promotion himself.
On his Twitter account, Cruise retweeted an AP tweet about Egypt’s recent discovery of a chamber of mummies and antiquities, wittingly warning, “Be Careful Opening Those Things”.
Egypt’s Ministry of Antiquities announced on Saturday that it had discovered at least 17 mummies during excavation work in the upper Egyptian city of El-Minya.
The forthcoming “The Mummy” is the reboot of the prominent franchise released in 1999, starring Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz.
In his comments on the movie, Cruise said, “We want it to be wild, violent, erratic and spontaneous”. The 54-year-old is well-known for performing his own stunts, and he passes on the thrill of doing the big moves to his new film as well.
The new action film’s plot will revolve around a princess who is awakened from her crypt beneath the desert, bringing with her terrors that defy human comprehension, according to IMDB.
