Egypt’s first manufactured smartphone has announced the opening of the preordering celebrating the Nile X smartphone made in Egypt.
SICO Tech is the first Egypt based technology and handset manufacturer of reliable and affordable 4G smartphones introducing personal devices like tablets and smartphones.
SICO Egypt announced that anyone can order the smartphone via a hotline number.
According to a report by Egypt Today, “the smartphone was made with EGP 400 million in investment in the company’s factory in Assiut. It further adds that “five production lines spread over 4,520 square meters, the factory has a capacity of producing 1.8 million devices per year.”
The launching of the smartphone has been delayed after a 15,000 battery shipment had been stolen last month from coastal port of Damietta city.
Minster of Communications and Information Technology (MICT) Yasser el-Kady has witnessed the signing of an agreement between the Egyptian company SICO technology and the Chinese Megan Group to proceed with manufacturing more electronic devices in Egypt.
A press release on the SICO Tech website stated that the two sides agreed to establish a new factory on an area of 3,000 meters in Borg Al-Arab Technology park.
