Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed support for French President Emmanuel Macron’s call to halt arms exports to Israel, citing serious violations of international and humanitarian law by the Israeli army in Gaza and Lebanon, according to a statement released on Sunday. In the statement, the ministry emphasized that the decision “fully aligns with the principles and regulations of international humanitarian law and reflects the widespread global discontent with the severe Israeli aggression in Gaza and Lebanon.” The ministry also expressed its gratitude for France’s support of Palestinian rights and the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with the two-state solution and relevant international resolutions.
