A fire broke out on Sunday, 30 August, at August Mall in the Fifth Settlement district of New Cairo, where many shops, offices and restaurants are, sending emergency crews racing to the scene and briefly disrupting one of the Egyptian capital’s busiest commercial corridors. One person was injured in the fire, according to authorities, though there were no reports of any deaths. Civil defense teams dispatched a number of fire trucks to the site soon after the fire was reported.…
